ABOUT
ZION HILL
BAPTIST CHURCH
OUR MOTTO
"Living to Love and Loving to Serve"
This motto emphasizes the centrality of love in the faith that we practice. As disciples of Jesus the Christ we view it as the attribute that should characterize all of our thinking and action. Love, of course, is a major theme in scripture and often is understood as indispensable for those claiming to be the Community of God.
OUR MISSION
As a body of baptized and faithful followers of Jesus, the Christ of God, we, the members of Zion Hill Baptist Church, identify as our mission the perpetuation of His Gospel, which operates by the powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit in ministering to the needs of the spiritually and physically dispossessed. Our ministry, centered on love and service, seeks to edify the local and universal Beloved Community, as well as to apply Christian solutions to various problems of the larger world.

In moving toward the fulfillment of this ministry we hope to realize the following outcomes:
-
saved lives through witnessing and preaching the Gospel of Jesus the Christ
-
empowered lives through the teaching of biblically-based principles
-
enriched lives through prayer and meditation
-
delivered lives through educational aid and economic development
OUR COMMUNITY
Zion Hill is home, a place where people feel welcomed, accepted, appreciated and empowered. At Zion Hill we think of church not as a physical place but more as a group of people "Living to Love and Loving to Serve," creating an environment where the power of God is seen in our actions and the presence of God is felt in our service. This community's steadfast commitment to loving and serving others is not just a cleverly stated mantra, but a clear call to action for living a better Christian life. When you walk through the doors, you are almost immediately compelled to jump right in... whether it's singing in the choir, joining the outreach ministry, or bringing your children to youth activities, there is an energy here that makes you feel at home and ready to work.
Zion Hill is a multi-generational family church. This is a community that embraces and respects the wisdom our grandmothers and grandfathers have to share. We appreciate the savvy leadership of adults who share their expertise and knowledge. We embrace young adults and college students whose transformative energy challenges us to embrace innovation in our spiritual approach. We celebrate teens and tweens whose excitement and morphing abilities teach us new ways to praise God. And, we adore our children and babies whose inspiring presence requires us to build more, grow stronger and love harder that they might know and experience God for generations to come!
